Sublime Samana Hotel & Residences is honored to join Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back membership program, empowering positive impact to local communities with every guest stay. The hotel is collaborating with The Dominican Joe Foundation to facilitate positive impact in its local community by providing quality educational opportunities for children impacted by poverty. The foundation’s pre-k through 12th grade school in Las Terrenas serves 243 kids and is committed to providing scholarships to graduates for vocational training or university education. This education is the crucial factor that will empower disadvantaged students to break the cycle of poverty.
Nearly 97% of travelers polled in Kind Traveler’s 2022 Impact Tourism Report want their travel dollars to make a positive impact in the communities they visit. The partnership between Sublime Samana Hotel & Residences, The Dominican Joe Foundation and Kind Traveler facilitates an easy pathway for travelers to make conscientious, responsible, sustainable, and regenerative travel decisions that support the local community. A $1 nightly community impact contribution collected from guests will go to The Dominican Joe Foundation. For every $10 raised through Kind Traveler’s Every Stay Gives Back program, 5 days of snacks and juices are provided for one student at the school in Las Terrenas.

Sublime Samana is a sanctuary that embraces sustainability and gives back to the local community in different ways. Other notable sustainability efforts include being an advocate and mentor for Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality by offering programs and classes to the hotel staff and local businesses owned by women; the hotel hires locally, 95% of the hotel staff is from the surrounding areas. Furthermore, in order to combat climate change, the hotel has a recycling program for paper, plastic, and glass, promotes water conservation by reusing treated water, uses solar panels for energy, and does not use single-use plastics in the restaurant.
